Copyright Policy

Copyright is a very important topic to us. It is also the reason why we started dramaturca in the first place.

There are many subtitlers who work hard to make Turkish TV series and movies accessible to the non-Turkish speaking fan community. The problem is that many end up violating the copyright of the original content owners, namely that of the production companies and broadcasting networks, by downloading the video content, adding their subtitles and uploading them to other servers. At the same time, it is hard for them to protect their subtitles, which require a lot of time and effort to create, against theft and re-distribution.

We set out to find a better way in which subtitlers can share their subtitles with fans without infringing the copyright of content owners. And with dramaturca, we have come up with a way that we believe protects the interests of both parties and creates a win-win situation for everyone.

Many production companies and broadcasting networks have official Youtube channels that they upload their video content to. On our website, we display the subtitles uploaded by our subtitlers to our platform over the embedded Youtube videos so that fans can watch the content directly on Youtube with subtitles and in the best quality. For this to work, the embeddability of the videos must have been enabled by the content owners in the first place.

If you are a content owner and oppose the use of your videos in the way described above, please contact us. We will take immediate action.

Every subtitler that uses this platform to publish and share subtitles, has to confirm that the subtitles they are uploading are their own work. If you are a subtitler and suspecting any of our users of having stolen your subtitling work, please contact us. We will take immediate action in this case as well.
